Photo Diary | The Great Canadian Cheese Festival 2015

Say Cheese!

(Pause as I slice a wedge of Handeck by Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese - of course I nibble when I write no surprise there - writers need inspiration and mine is cheese!)

This year marked the fifth annual Great Canadian Cheese Festival at the Crystal Palace in Picton, Ontario on June 6th & 7th with cheese head, Georgs Kolesnikovs. It showcased more than 150 Canadian artisan and farmstead cheeses from more than 30 Canadian cheesemakers, including winners and finalists from the 2015 Canadian Cheese Grand Prix. But let's not forget that our nation's best cheeses were well complimented with artisan foods of breads, jams, chutneys, honey, fine wines, ciders and craft beer.

Admissions allowed fellow cheese lovers to get their taste buds tingling commencing with free cheese-curd (yes please!) and grilled cheese sandwiches proceeded with an endless amount of delightful cheesy samples!
