Birthday in a Jar

This reminds me of a little happiness in a jar and what perfect way to celebrate a loved ones birthday then by surprising them with this treat.

I resorted to this as I wasn't so keen on the idea of making an entire cake. While on Pinterest, I came upon the neat idea of cakes baked in jar's, so I though why not a mini-birthday cake for one. But knowing me, I had to put a twist on it. Instead of using a regular cake mix, I made cake batter blondies. They differ as they have a gooey rich consistency, hence its name.

Depending on the jar size, bake at 350 for 15-18 minutes. Them simply add some frosting on top with sprinkles and voila!

Get your sparklers out and hope you have a good one!

Enjoy!

Cake Batter Blondies

Yesterday I spent the afternoon baking cake batter blondies, they simply scream birthday and such, it was the perfect treat to make. They are delicious and relatively easy to make.

Ingredients | 1 box yellow cake mix - 1/4 cup canola oil - 1 egg, beaten - 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk - 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles - 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Directions | Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the cake mix with sprinkles in a large bowl, then mix in the egg and oil. Add the milk gently just until the batter is combined. Remember to keep stirring and make sure all the ingredients are all mixed together. Finally add the chocolate chips, which are optional but are definitely worth it as they it adds to the dense mixture. Place batter in preferably, a greased 8 inch cake pan. Then bake for 25-30 minutes or just until the edges turn golden.

Upon removal from the oven, cool for 20 minutes as the gooey center needs to set. And hence it's name, you have a rich, cake batter texture.

Enjoy!
