Glitter Cookies

These mini delights don't have to be just for the holidays but are
perfect for birthdays as well. (Hint hint mine's just around the corner!)
While yes they may be time consuming, they are well worth it and can
be made in large batches. Glitter cookie sandwiches are festive, easy
to serve and the perfect host gift. They will melt in your mouth!

This past month along with my obsession of oxford shirts, I have
acquired another one (or well a few in the same category), they are
sparkles, sequins and glitter! (What girl can resist all three?!) So
I saw it being fit to talk about these magical cookies.

This recipe is your go to for making these treats.

Have fun being your own version of Martha Stewart!

Oxford Shirts

So I, Rosalyn, have a serious obsession with oxford shirts. I said it,
there! I love these shirts, especially in a white or a blue as they are
completely timeless. They can be worn in so many ways and paired
with almost any outfit. I'm a bit of a chic prep and am slowly accumulating
more and more of these shirts. With so many colours, patterns and fit,
the options are endles as oxfords can be pretty much found anywhere,
at any cost.

I could particular wear them everyday as they just give the appearance
of being 'put together' along with some cute accessories. Let's be honest,
on weekends and what not, I pair mine with comfy leggings and I know
I'm not the only one. I'll have to admit that was my go to outfit for classes
back when I was in uni. However, class and work are two separate worlds.
In my mind, leggings or 'yoga' pants are not acceptable in the workplace.
That is my personal opinion and if people chose to do it, that's fine. I just
could never do it. My casual work outfits consist of jeans and blouses
sometimes paired with blazers.

The tailored fit of Oxfords is the primary aspect that attracts me to them,
because they look good on any body type. So if you're on the thin side
or curvy like myself, this type of shirt is perfect!

TGIF

This week has flown by and I can't actually believe it's already Friday!
So why am I a tad excited about this particular day? Well if you insist...
I am looking forward to two days of somewhat relaxation and not going
to bed by 11pm!

I know I am not the only one who enjoys Fridays as it frees us from the
grind and allows ourselves to unwind after a long week at work. The one
thing I am most definitely excited for is just popping a movie on tonight,
getting comfortable and not having to think about 'work' (so blogging,
social media, online presence, answering emails and actual work). Oh
and perhaps a bit of shopping...who knows!

Why do you love Fridays?

Pink & Navy

So if you haven't noticed yet, I am fixated over this color combination
and particularly gravitate towards it near spring time. These two colours
create a nautical look that's still very feminine. This leads to the topic
of my style evolving and now being a tad more preppy than before. I
adore the classic look of collared shirts (especially hues of blues!) and
my closet is evidence that I have a slight obsession but a good one in my
 mind.

Whenever I go shopping, navy, whites and pinks are what I am most
attracted to. My go to stores lately have been Tommy Hilfiger and h&m.
Two stores that are complete opposites but complement each other at the
same time. Affordability and key wardrobe staples are two words I love to
hear. That combined with a touch of prep and my favorite color scheme
is even better!

Dainty Bracelets - Jeweliq

While browsing Pinterest, I discovered this new company
called Jeweliq. So what attracted me to their products you
may ask? Well it's hard to believe, but it is all under $25!
They make shopping affordable and offer jewelry that
 make a big statement.

The Love bracelet is definitely on my wish list as I adore
the dainty chain. To be honest, I am not a big jewelry wearer
on a daily basis. So these pieces are ones I would actually
sport as arm candy as they are delicate and not over the top!

Hunter Boots

My Original Tall pair of Hunters have a been a life saver for the
past few years. They were definitely a worthwhile investment as
they are fashionable yet very practical. These boots are classic,
versatile and easy to wear.

The one thing I particularly like about them is that they are 100%
waterproof. As it is rains or either snows in Kingston, Hunters
(or well rain boots) are a necessity!

The Regent Apsley in Chocolate will be my next purchase or
the Regent Carlyle in Cafe Latte.

Oh why am I so indecisive sometimes?

Macarons

These delicate French pastries are one of my favourites and are the
perfect Valentine's treat. They are sure to impress friends or your special
someone. They are a great gift to brightening up a day like today as they
are different and unexpected.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Scarves

I've come to the realization that scarves have become one of my must-haves this winter season. They are easy to style around, keep me warm and can be used as a statement piece. I consider scarves to be my new go-to accessory.

With the chilly weather and everyday outfits, I tend to lean towards neutral colours but once spring rolls around, get ready for some fun brighter colours!

Valentine's Day Gifts for Him

When one thinks about Valentine's Day, it is usually a 'holiday' where women are spoiled with roses or lavish gifts, but we must not forget about those who purchase said things. Men are as equally important and deserve to be pampered as well!

Here's a few small items for him that he will truly appreciate:

Cozy Things

I'm the type of person who relishes in those moments when I can simply curl up on the couch with some tea and a fleece blanket. No matter what I'm doing whether it is work or watching TV, those moments are when I am most relaxed.

It is especially enjoyable when I have a candle burning. During the Christmas season, I was obsessed with the scent Holiday Wreath from Bath & Body Works. But now, Mahogany Teakwood is my new favourite. It actually smells like the A&F store! (Well I think so at least) Having a candle makes the room feel warm and sets the mood.

Being cozy and warm puts me in a relaxation state. This has its pros and cons, as I could either fall asleep or be rather productive. Oh but let me tell you, this past week or so flew by. The one thing that remained consistent were my not so lovely daily headaches. While stress, dehydration or low blood sugars could be probable causes, I am finally taking a week to recuperate.

How do you relax?

Valentine's Day Gifts for Her

So it's that time of the year and normally the pressure is on for men to find that special woman in their lives a special gift that will make her eyes light up. However some are clueless and need to be a bit more imaginative when it comes to gift giving. Roses and a box of chocolates may satisfy some, but it is somewhat of a cliche. Choosing a gift that reflects your friend's or significant other's personality is a good way to go.

Here's a few small items for her:
