Happy Spring

Today is officially the first day of spring and I could not be anymore excited than I am right now. I have retired my winter coat to the closet and am super happy to share my current spring/summer obsessions and staples!

Just last week, it was pouring rain and today it's a gorgeous sunny day. I am not complaining at all, however it seems like the weather is playing with our minds or it could be global warming. Who knows?!

Anyway, let's get down to business. This season, several trends have been noticed on the runways and here are how I would incorporate them into my wardrobe and style. Enjoy!

So if you may have not noticed, this season I am literally obsessed with statement bib necklaces and want to get my hands on a few more. Also this vibrant Talitha pink blouse is a must have and may be worn in many ways. The possibilities are endless!

Okay so what girl does not like a bit of shine or glitter? The trend of metallic basic is making a come back, so why not try this outfit and steal the dance floor spotlight the next time you a girl's night out!

Lastly, the biggest trend for spring 2012 would have to be color blocking and the most popular colour would have to be tangerine. However if this isn't your citrus of choice, there are plenty more orange hues to choose from. In my case, another item on my list is to get a pair of bright pastel coloured pants  preferably in pink or an emerald hue as it suits my skin tone more.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Tomorrow is St. Paddy's Day! For those of you in uni, you must know that celebrating St. Paddy's is a must. At Queen's U and as an Engineering student, it is tradition to celebrate at Clark Hall Pub on campus for St. Patio decked out in your finest green apparel as well as sporting your  'GPA' (Golden Party Amour as they are called). These golden, purpled works of art have be become the most identifiable trait of the Queen's Engineer. The gold leather and words Queen's Applied Science are recognized worldwide and are all but synonymous with the spirit of the Faculty. However, enough about this! A post dedicated to such topic will be coming soon. So as we have been blessed with warm weather,  which I am most certainly enjoying, here are some ideas for outfits!

I'm obsessed with pastels and here's a way to add a pop of color with Current/Elliott current elliott jeans.

Don't you just adore lace blazers? I can't wait to get my hands on one for this spring season.

What will you be wearing to find your pot of gold?

Happy Pi Day

If you are a somewhat of a nerd like me then you may have already figured out that March 14 is Pi Day (you know 3.14…), primarily because its numerical expression 3/14 bears a slight resemblance to the value of pi calculated to two decimal places! However it is also Albert Einstein’s birthday!

To celebrate both of these occasions that require no math, it is a common occurrence to have some pie. And as I'm a fan of Apple and apple pie, I stumbled upon this creation on Pinterest that is impressive and seems quite delicious as well.

How will you be celebrating Pi Day?

It's My Birthday!

It is that time of the year where you add an extra one to your age. Oh the joy of growing old! When it comes to birthdays I don't tend to get excited unless the people around me are. However this year has been different, I am actually having dinner with a few uni friends and came up with the idea of  'A Black & White Affair' at a restaurant that I am quite fond of. The theme is quite obvious because what woman does not enjoy wearing her little black dress! I know I can't resist slipping into mine!

XOXO
