As I am now in fourth year, I will be graduating next May. With this in mind, that means I need to look for a job. Hence attending info sessions and on campus recruitment sessions are very crucial and dressing the part is key to succeeding/impressing.

This is what I typically wear when it rains here in Kingston. I love my Hunter boots and don't know what I would do without them - having owned them for well over three years, they were well worth the cost. Paired with my Old Navy raincoat, the outfit is complete!

Today marks the five year anniversary of the Dawson College shooting that took place on September 13, 2006 in Montreal. However, this anniversary will be quite different. Dawson will commemorate the tragedy that ended Anastasia De Sousa's life and where several other students were wounded by inaugurating a peace garden on its grounds. ‘The garden is meant as a living memorial to De Sousa’s spirit and the courage of those affected by the tragedy.’(Brenda Branswell, Postmedia News) In addition, this is the third school shooting in Quebec, after the École Polytechnique massacre in 1989 and the Valery Fabrikant shooting spree at Concordia University in 1992. Let us pray that this does not happen once more.
Never Again…
As a fourth year uni student living on my own in a house with four other girl, my personal space i.e. my bedroom is quite important because it`s the place where I go to de-stress and relax. The following are things that can make a room feel more cozy and can also be found in my room. Enjoy and most of these things can be found at your local Urban Outfitters!

o Cushions
o Frames
o Artwork
o Lighting
When it comes to breakfast, it is the most important meal of the day as it gets your day and metabolism going. So even if you`re in a hurry grab a fruit like an apple or a granola bar. Here are some of my favorite things to eat in the morning:
o Yogurt with granola and fruits
o All Bran Strawberry/Kashi cereal with fruit and milk
o Oatmeal with apples
o Smoothie with frozen fruits, wheat germ and yogurt
When I attend classes at uni, these are the things I carry on a daily basis: notebooks, pencil case filled with pencils, pens and highlighters, white out etc as well as folders to keep track of papers professors hand out. The difference between elementary, high school and university/college is that uni gives you much more freedom when when it comes to what you need to get. No more teachers giving you extremely long and detailed lists of what you would be needing for the year! Oh and yes I do carry around a Disney princess pencil case! Don`t judge!

o Hilroy Silhouette Case-Made Notebook
o Pilot Fluorescent Spotliter Highlighters, Assorted, 6/Pack
o Staples Graphite Pencils, 12/Pack
o R.S.V.P Ballpoint Pen, Retractable, 1.0mm
o BiC Ecolutions Mini Correction Tape, 2/Pack
o Staples Recycled Coloured File Folder, Letter Size
o Disney Princess Pencil Case
Less than a week and school officially starts! Every year I usually go back to school 'bag' shopping, however at my years of uni, I have learnt that alternating between a backpack and a tote is more convenient than picking one. On days where I have to carry textbooks and such, I usually go for my sturdy backpack as they provide more back support. However, on other days I simply carry around my Longchamp purse as it is very spacious. In which I tend to carry an organizer, folders, notes, pencil case and course manuals for courses depending on the days. Oh along with a lunch and my wallet!

I’m
sorry to say but I can already feel the cold weather approaching and I am
not thrilled. Where did summer go?? It seems like only yesterday that it was my
last day of my third year and now I start school in less than two weeks. I have
trouble actually believing that this is my final year. I’m not entirely sad or
excited, which may seem odd but I’m at awe and astonished that I’ve made it
this far.
Along
my university experience, I seriously thought about changing my major to either
Commerce (Marketing) or Fashion Merchandising. While these two are completely
different, I thought that I would take over my father’s company once he
retired. However, this may not happen anymore but never say never because you
don’t ever know what will happen in the future. Throughout my uni year so far,
I’m poignant to say that there has only been one class, which I thought in my
opinion, was very well taught, finely organized and the profs were truly
passionate about what they were teaching. This course was, Human Computer
Interaction. Long story short, this class made me want to stay in my program
and gave me courage to continue.
Anyway,
enough of my babbling! Here are some of my fall staples that I will be sporting
around Kingston once the cold weather actually settles in...
