The lovely Carly of College Prep is having another giveway and I must say this is one of the best so far. Why? Well the winner will get to choose between either a small gold tone necklace or a pewter flourish pendant. Marley Lilly products are amazing and I wish everyone good luck!
So today I got an email stating that I was chosen as the featured style advisor of the week. This simply made my day and felt like sharing it with you as well as telling you what Dormify is all about!

Three words describe Dormify and it’s creators:
FUNKY. BOLD. DARING.
‘It’s philosophy, blog and products are all meant to spark your imagination. After all, you only have four years of college. You shouldn’t settle for less than the best when it comes to discovering your style or designing your space. Dormify aims to inspire college students to explore and embrace their style both inside and outside their dorm rooms. From clothes and accessories, to school supplies and shower curtains—they want to empower students to explore their own design tastes and express it throughout all aspects of their lives.’

So as a style advisor, you act as style consultant to college friends who need a little help in the interior designing department and expose them to fun, funky and functional design and help them transform their dorms/rooms into modern, convenient and gorgeous homes.
Anyone can turn a boring white room into a comfortable home away from home that has style and personality. They’ve made it all very easy —creating pieces that complement and coordinate with one another. Even if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, Dormify can help you style your space.

Olivia represents the sheer essence of elegance and beauty. Her style is impecable yet simple and refined. This truly relates to her great appreciation for fine clothes which translates quite effortlessly to her stunning ensembles and her ability to mix and match high end and lower end fashion together.
Apparently this semester, I have changed as a person. Good or bad you ask? I hope in a good way. I have become quite the little hermit dedicating most of my hours to schoolwork, writing, and projects. This being said, I have come to realize who my true friends are. Friends that don’t care that I don’t go out anymore. Friends that let me laugh until I can hardly breath. Friends that will drop anything and everything if I need help with something. Obviously, working a lot comes with its downsides. Up until now, I have resorted to living on caffeine, little sleep and a small number of friends. Being so focused on simply getting through the day, has definitely made me lose perspective on the bigger picture.
With the occasional regrets and breakdowns as well as a slew of emotions, I am dedicated to completing my degree. While I appear calm and relaxed most of the time, I am stressed and sometimes do not know if I can get through the day or even the next minute. So I will leave it at that and let you in on the projects I am currently working on. Enjoy!
Fourth Year Design Project
Speech Synthesis through Gesture Recognition
A system that will be used by an individual with limited mobility that translates blink gestures to speech through an adaptive graphic user interface. A small vocabulary of about 150 words that will be reliably implemented by recognizing successive blinks gestures with the left or right eye thus enabling implementation of a useful vocabulary. The prototype developed will be non-invasive, rapid, easy to use, accurate, and allow for ready expansion. This project entails the use of Ardunio and Java implementation.
Distributed System Project
Design and Implementation of a Chat System
Design and implement a collaborative chat system for textual conversation between multiple (50) participants communicating with each other. This will be done by creating a client-server application using remote procedure call. The system will have participants register to a server before they can send any messages to the current users.
Biomaterial Presentation
A Mechanical Engineering presentation that looks and discusses the choice and impact of Biomaterials in Dental Implants.
Now to get all this done in the next four weeks! Wish me luck!
Living off campus is quite the exciting experience, you get to live with some amazing people and it allows you to decorate a whole new room from scratch. When I took on the challenge to decorate my room away from home, I choose my bed to be the main focal point. I understand that as students we all have certain budgets that we would like to stick too, however don’t worry because finding unique pieces for your room is quite simple and easy, if you just put some effort and time into it. With sites like Dormify and stores such as Ikea or Target, finding fun and exciting pieces is a fun. Pieces such as cushions, table lamps, art, dyi headboards etc. Here a few examples of wonderful rooms:

Going on, when figuring out the basics of decorating a room, one must choose a colour scheme and a focus of attention, whether it is your bed, headboard, wall art or a simple mural in your room. Everyone has a creative side, so hope this inspires you and remember have fun. Enjoy!
Being in a city like Kingston in the fall season, there is a lot rain and not to mention high winds as we are next to Lake Ontario. Don't let the wind or cold weather bring you down, show style with cute accessories! So in order to celebrate the colder season, take a lot at these lovely headbands!

Okay, so you have to check out A Beautiful Mess by the wonderful Elsie. This blog is magnificent with great content ranging from recent projects, outfits, treats, beauty etc. I stumbled upon this blog while I was on Bloglovin this morning and came across the 3 Pie Inspired Pop-Tart Recipe.
Today is a day to stay in and snuggle with a loved one! Here in Kingston, it was forecasted to rain all week however, mother nature finally graced us with her presence today with high winds, rain and cold chills. So what a great way to warm up by making these pop tarts and sipping on a warm cup of hot chocolate. Check out these pictures!
My Favourite:

' For the apple pie pop-tarts, the filling can be made with 1 peeled and finely chopped apple, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Mix together and fill your tarts. Then garnish the tarts with a little more cinnamon and sugar.'
