Miss I Don't Get Sick

If you've ever been sick, you know it's not fun and overworking doesn't help either. This past week, well you may have figured it out but yes, miss oh I never get sick, I don't need vitamin pills, got sick. I realized that I had to rest and simply take a day off. I worked from home which is very uncommon but made it work while lounging on the couch in a pillow fortress and obviously wrapped in a fleece blanket. It doesn't get cozier than that.

With rest and keeping hydrated with orange juice (vitamin c in key!), tea (with cinnamon and honey of course) and water, my body was able to recuperate until the weekend. I learnt that if you take good care of yourself and boost your immune system you normally should be able to to get over your cold early. So if you do feel signs of a cold coming on, take a few days off, you won't be doing yourself or anyone else a favour by forcing yourself to work through a cold. Your body needs rest in order to heal faster, so go ahead and call in sick. Get comfortable in bed or on the couch like myself and don't push yourself too much. This is a hard realization to come to but it's for your own good.

My favourite snack when sick is an english muffin with a cinnamon spread. At the first sign of a cold, using honey and cinnamon are quite effective to end it quickly.

What are your tips and tricks for treating a cold or flu?

Enjoy!
