An iPhone is a blogger's best friend, especially the iPhone 5s. It is sleek, light, fits in the palm of our hands and matches any of our outfits. Thanks to the Rogers Social Insider program, I got the chance to test out this nifty phone, which is a considerable upgrade from my current phone, the original iPhone 4 from 2010.
With the amazing amount of technology packed into this smartphone, it is not surprising that its performance is brilliant with an A7 chip with 64-bit architecture. This phone boasts with a faster processor, vastly improved camera, ultrafast LTE and fingerprint identity sensor for security.
The two features that stood out:
The Camera
With more details, greater dynamic range and less overall noise, the iPhone 5s having the same 8 megapixels, is deemed to have a faster aperture and a bigger sensor. The new features include auto image stabilization, slow motion (120 frames per second) and burst mode (10 shots per second). The one item that I truly was thrilled about, was the better low light capabilities and two tone flash that recognizes lighting condition and uses white and amber flashes.
As for the Camera application in iOS 7, it gives you more ways to capture your favourite moments from the above mentioned to square, still, panorama and video shooting formats. Several filters are also available at a swipe of a finger to get that Instagram feel. Leave it up to your imagination!
Touch ID
This smartphone comes with a fancy dandy, you would say Bond like feature to unlock your phone. Apple has made it easier and faster to get into your phone without the hassle of entering a passcode each time with a new fingerprint identity sensor. It is as simple as placing your finger on the Home button and voila, your iPhone unlocks. It's a rather convenient and highly secure way to access you phone as this method can also be used when purchasing items from the iTunes Store or App Store. Better yet, Touch ID allows you to have multiple fingerprints registered.
As a blogger, I enjoyed the time I had with the iPhone 5s and it has made me want to upgrade to it! It only took me three years to do, then again I am the type of person to use something until it is literally broken or non functional. So I'm a happy camper, who knew it would take this techie this long.
It's definitely a great phone! Can't wait til I get to upgrade to the 6!
